Plants copper red in colour, fleshy, more than 14 cm tall, erect, caespitose, terete, repeatedly, irregularly and dichotomously branched; fronds about 2 mm in diameter, terminal portions gradually tapering to acute tips (Figs. a, b); thallus composed of an epidermal layer of uniform cells and large cortical cells; cuticle thick; the central medullary filaments made up of thick filaments.
