Plants dark pink to brownish red in colour, more than 15 cm in height, fleshy, profusely branched (Figs. a, b); branches terete or slightly compressed, 1 - 5 mm broad, basally constricted with sub-acute tips; branching irregular from all sides, sometimes umbellate with 4 - 5 branches arising from proliferously from a damaged branch.
