Plants yellowish brown in colour, 12 cm or more in height, ribbon like, upper parts regularly dichotomously branched, attached by a small cuneate disc (Figs. a, b); branches usually of uniform breadth with variations in the width of the fronds (Figs. b, c), forking angles of 15 - 45°, axes narrow, margins entire, apices rounded, obtuse or sometimes acute; tetrasporangia single or double, scattered on both sides of the thallus.
