Equipment for microscopy using Nomarski optics Procedure
1. Prepare a 3% (w/v) solution of low-melting-point agarose in water.
2. Keep the liquid agarose solution on a hot plate.
3. Dip a microscope slide into the molten agarose.
4. Quickly lay the tissue on the agarose-covered slide.
5. Chill in the refrigerator for a few minutes.
6. Remove tissue and view, without a coverslip, under Nomarski optics.
