Conclusions

It is worth pointing out that the species from the most representative families are typical Mediterranean species, which are well adapted to environmental stress conditions — namely, water stress and very poor and tiny soils, and are represented in the investigated samples. Tolerance to high levels of metals in the soil is the important aspect for application in phytoremediation.
